The role of calcium chloride in water treatment
The role of calcium chloride in water treatment
1. Neutralization: Calcium chloride aqueous solution is acidic, so sewage can be treated with pH neutralization, and then the acidic sewage pipeline network can be pre adjusted to extend its service life.
2. Sterilization: Calcium chloride is a typical ionic halide. Chloride ions dissolved in water can kill bacteria, thereby weakening the toxicity of water.
3. Replacement: Calcium ions can replace metal cations in water, especially in the treatment process of wastewater containing metal cations. In order to reduce the damage of metal cations to the biochemical section, calcium chloride plays a key role in removing these toxic and harmful substances during the pre-treatment process. Chloride ions play a bactericidal role, and calcium ions produce calcium hydroxide precipitation and then precipitate to remove them.
4. Filter aid: Used as a filter aid in wastewater treatment.
